75 ) - Momma's Dream
My mom is 79 years old. She has always taken care of other people. I remember growing up in a house where my elderly relatives came to stay and Mom took care of them until they passed. She watched as cancer destroyed her mother, sister and husband. She stayed by them day and night giving them the love and medication they needed to be comfortable. She endured her older daughters death. She could not work while my dad and grandmother was ill so after they were gone she lost everything.
She has lived with my husband and I for the last 14 years and I wouldn't change a day of it. She always smiles and is fairly content to sit, crochet and watch TV. She receives $602 per month social security. She buys her medication, cigarettes, thread and lottery twice a week. She never asks for anything.
My mom has trouble walking. She has a circulation problem in her legs and they hurt constantly. She had surgery for this but it just made it worse. She needs an electric wheelchair or scooter. We have tried to get medicare to pay for this but they refuse. They say as long as she can walk a little bit she doesn't need it. She is constantly falling. I have asked my family members to help. I even had it figured out that if I could get 100 people to give $45.00 I could get her scooter and take her to Maryland to see her brother.
Those are the only two things she ever talks about. I have a very limited income and due to stupidity on my part and way over my head in debt. I would give her my last breath if I could.
Maybe thru this letter I can get some feed back from strangers that will help. All my family does is say good luck!!

Hi.I'm a 63 year old male,have been married for 37 years. In 1996 I had quadruple bypass.I went back to work till 2000 and had another heart attack,where they told me I couldn't work again.I had third attack in 2001(they did stints both times.)the company I was working for was self insured (didn't pay dr & hosp bills) and they filed bankruptcy in 2001.My wife had two operations on disk in her neck,and was told she needed the third with a 50_50 chance of being paralized.needless to say we are both disabled and cannot work.we are both on disability and cannot meet all our obligations.we had to file bankruptcy 18 months ago(we kept aaa credit until all this happened).we are told that 2 years after the bankruptcy we will be able to re finance again.we owed $91,000 on our home after we re financed in 1996 and have it down to 52,000 now.we can pay back $500 a month on this $52000 and be able to make ends meet.we have 1/2 acre with a 52x28 manufactered home and 22x30 detached garage that appraised in 96 at $117,000.we will be glad to pay a reasonable intrest on the loan.we both worked hard all our lifes and are not looking for a hand out,just a little help from up above.thanks for listining.(I was a truckdriver,eqpt.operator,driller and wife was checker at grocery store)we live in surburb of Albuquerque New Mexico and have owned this place since 1991.

my name is rommel and I wish for the most in the world for my mother to have a house not an apartment but a nice house in florida she works so hard for us she works to pay the rent and some times at night I see her reading the bible and then crying I know she tries her best to put food on the table this yr I realized she cant buy me and my brother any school clothes just our school supplies she says she needs to pay the insurance to the car the rent and other bills I know it has been hard for her sometimes she will buy a lotto ticket and I hear her say if a win I will buy a house with a dog like we used to have then I hear her saying well I didnt win again I try next time if there was any one out there that can make my mothers dream come true it would be the best thing for her and me and my brother believe it or not the car she has she keeps saying if i win the lotto i will give you the car and i will buy me a new car for myself but at age 16 whos going to give me a car my mom has been saying it since i got my permit and nothing/ my mom used to take 3 buses to work when her car broke down for one yr she woke up at 5:00 am to get to work for 8:00am she would get home at 10:00pm from those rides from the bus it was painful to see her do the things a mom does i love her she keeps me and my brother off the streets and she has done a very good job at it but some times we can get her upset and cry too will some one help my mom wish come true!!!!!!!!

My husband and I have been together for many years. This is the first time we have found ourselves struggling so hard we can’t seem to get out of this severe debt we have accumulated. My husband was in an auto accident a few years ago and has been unable to work since. He struggles everyday just to keep going. I have taken on the burden of everyday expenses and trying to cope with the bills, but I have borrowed against everything from my car to household items just to push these expenses farther aheadNow I I would really appreciate any assistance any good Samaritan out there could give us.
